CIMC Equilink: Shipping Container Floor Standards
Nov 20,2025
Looking for shipping container floor or container floor that meets global standards? CIMC Equilink’s wooden shipping container floors comply with strict technical specifications—covering materials, structure, dimensions, strength, and more. Below is a detailed breakdown of the core standards for high-quality shipping container floors, ensuring your cargo transport safety and compliance.
1. Shipping Container Floor Material Requirements
Wood Laminate: Must be Apitong/Keruing or approved substitute materials, ensuring durability for long-haul shipping.

Adhesive: Uses external Phenol Formaldehyde (phenolic resin, commonly called "red glue")—highly resistant to moisture, temperature changes, and heavy loads.

2. Structure & Appearance Standards
A qualified shipping container floor must meet the following structural and visual requirements:
Minimum 19 layers of plywood for stability and load-bearing capacity.
Surface (1st, 2nd, 3rd layers) and bottom surface (1st, 2nd, 3rd layers) must be long-grain boards, aligned with the container’s length direction.
Panels must be sanded for a smooth finish.
Defects (cracks, wormholes, decay, etc.) must be within allowable limits and properly repaired.

3. Specifications & Dimensions
Thickness: 28mm (+1mm, 0mm tolerance).
Length & Width: Must match drawing nominal sizes, with (0mm, -1mm) tolerance.
Squareness: Diagonal dimension difference ≤2mm.
Warpage: ≤1mm.
Twist: ≤3mm.

Chamfering: Dimensions and tolerances must meet drawing requirements.

4. Moisture Content
Shipping container floor moisture content ≤12% at the time of delivery—prevents warping or decay during transport.
5. Density
Required density range: 700kg/m³ to 950kg/m³—ensures structural integrity and load-bearing capacity.
6. Strength Requirements
High strength is critical for shipping container floor performance. Key standards include:
Flexural Strength: ≥6900N (including chamfered/grooved edges).
Shear Strength:
Normal conditions: ≥3.4MPa.
After cooking: ≥1.7MPa.
Adhesive Anti-Aging: After cyclic cooking tests, continuous delamination on one side ≤25mm in length and ≤6mm in depth.

Trolley Test: Must pass the 7260Kg (ISO+33%) trolley test after container installation.

7. Chemical Treatment

All wooden shipping container floors must undergo chemical treatment complying with the latest Australian AQIS: Cargo Container standards—ensuring pest control and global transport compliance.
