Standard containers or general purpose containers are the frequently used containers for all types of general cargo. These are enclosed on all four sides they can be supplied with doors at one or both ends depending on the requirements. 20 feet and 40 feet are the most common container size and both are available in 9.6 feet height which allow loading more cargo. CIMC Equilink also supply other types of containers with different sizes such as; 10 feet, 30 feet, 45 feet and even 53 feet.

International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is responsible for the standardization and regulation of the cargo containers and to ensure that containers can be stacked most efficiently one on top of another.

Standard containers are intended for permanent and repeated use and designed specifically to facilitate transportation of goods.
