Container Identification(3) - Overweight and Overheight Marking
Jan 06,2025
I am here to provide you with some essential details regarding container identification that are crucial for our daily operations, specifically focusing on overweight and overheight markings.

Overweight Marking

When dealing with containers, it's imperative we pay close attention to their weight limits. In cases where a container's gross weight exceeds 30.48 tons, you'll notice a distinct triangular overweight marking labeled “SUPERHEAVY”. This clear visual cue serves as a warning and helps us ensure compliance with transportation regulations. It's our responsibility to be vigilant about these markings to avoid any potential issues during transit.Overheight Marking

Equally important is understanding the overheight markings. For any container that stands taller than 2.6 meters (or 8'6" in imperial units), two specific markings must be present:
a. Height markings are required on both sides of the container. These are strategically placed 1.2 meters to the right of the top and 0.6 meters away. The color scheme is a highly visible black text on a yellow background. The marking is cleverly divided into two sections. The upper portion displays the height value in meters, while the lower part provides the equivalent measurement in imperial units. For instance, if we see a marking indicating the height of the container is 2.9 meters (9 feet 6 inches), we know exactly what we're dealing with. This dual-unit display allows for seamless communication across different measurement systems commonly used in the industry.

b. Additionally, a yellow and black zebra mark, which should be no shorter than 300 mm, must be affixed to both sides of each corner piece of the top beam. This bold pattern further accentuates the container's overheight status, making it easily distinguishable even from a distance.CIMC Equilink's Exceptional Container Solutions
